Art statement of "Untitled" Series
“無題”系列

Weaving and embroidery always mesmerise me more than other art forms. The labour intensive provide me a moment of tranquillity, calmness, concentration. I use the technique called supplementary weft same with Songket, same colour with the background threads. The light and shadow will present the depth and solidity in the weaving. The self-identity in the art language are expressed through the structure and material of textiles. The language of the material of my work as the sensitive segments of the life and emotion that are often ignored.

I am obsessed with chatting with friends and “collect” the private stories they shared. They will share me their emotion which would not show on their face while the incident happened. Moreover, the stories showed the characteristic of protagonist, even the storyteller. I am particularly keen of observing the daily life of the street, especially how the objects placed beside the street, in which seem to narrate what they encountering. Illogical sequence and fragments accumulate of daily objects also as the metaphor of my friends’ stories in my artworks. Art conveys the mixed emotions better than language.
